They’ve not worked together for 33 years but Anne Diamond and Pam Royle were all smiles when they met up at a charity event in Stockton on Tees on 26th September 2018.
Anne was special guest at the ladies’ lunch at Hardwick Hall and spoke to 650 guests about her life and career in TV and journalism. She was introduced by the Patron of North East Ladies, ITV Tyne Tees presenter Pam Royle.
In 1985 Pam spent three weeks presenting the weather forecast on TV-am’s Good Morning Britain while regular presenter Wincey Willis was on leave.
Pam has been the face of ITV Tyne Tees news for over thirty years and continues to be the main presenter on the 6pm regional magazine programme which is broadcast from studios in Gateshead. Pam also fronts ITV Border’s 6pm news programme “Lookaround”.
The charity event, raising money for three local charities, was an opportunity for Pam and Anne to take a look at some old photos of them working in the TV-am studio. Pam said, “I wish my hair still looked like that, and I would love to wear a top like that again!” Anne said “It was great to catch up with Pam again after so many years - where has the time gone!?”.
