Henry Kelly, the Irish journalist and broadcaster who was a regular presenter on TV-am has died.

Henry joined TV-am in 1983 as host of the Saturday edition of Good Morning Britain, while Michael Parkinson was in Australia. Later he teamed up with Toni Arthur as regular hosts of TV-am’s Saturday morning programme. When Toni left in 1984 he continued to present the programme by himself.

In 1985 Henry became a regular stand in presenter on the weekday editions of Good Morning Britain, covering for Nick Owen alongside Anne Diamond, Anneka Rice and Jayne Irving.

In the Summer of 1986 Henry Kelly returned to weekends presenting Kelly on Sunday and did the same in 1987 presenting Summer Sunday.

The ACTT dispute followed at the end of 1987 and Henry was not seen on TV-am presenting after that.
